When Jack and Marilyn Andert of Marilyn's Needlecraft and Gift Gallery approached us at the Charlotte Needlework Market to visit their shop in St. Augustine, FL for a chart-signing, we could not say YES fast enough! Peter and I did not even pause to consider scheduling conflicts, finances, or whether or not we could squeeze the trip in before we moved to Spokane, WA. If you are familiar with the schedules that designers keep, attending shows and meeting deadlines, or if you have ever organized a long distance move, you may have an idea of what the last 6 months have been like for us. "Hectic" is not the word for it! "Chaotic" is more to the point. ...But, none of that mattered when Jack |

them. We had never met them before, never been to Florida, and thought for an instant that they had made a mistake. Surely, they meant to ask some other designer, after all, we were surrounded by 300 very talented people. Any minute now they would be saying, "Oops, we're sorry. We thought you were someone else." To our amazement, they were expressing their excitement about our visit. "Oh, our customers will be so excited to meet you two!" We needed no convincing. We returned home from Charlotte, got the plane tickets, packed the models, and set forth on our adventure to Florida. Yes, we should have been packing. We should have been working. But...we just left it all behind and completely ignored it all for a week. It was fabulous. It felt like someone else's life. |

| St. Augustine is the oldest city in the country and is a very historic and beautiful place to visit. On the coast of the Atlantic Ocean, where we walked on the powder-soft sandy beaches and took a dip in the salt watery waves, St. Augustine offers plenty of shopping, incredible Spanish architecture, delicious seafood, and the charm of a city five centuries old. A visit to the top of the St. Augustine Lighthouse will reveal both the beauty of the town and its history. |
Jack, or "Shades" as we took to calling him, and Marilyn made us feel so at home and welcome in their shop. Their customers impressed us with their talent, humor, and friendship. Though this was our first designer appearance and chart-signing, they made us feel like pros. "Thank you" to all of Jack and Marilyn's customers for your enthusiasm and kind words. You inspire us to continue designing! We hope that we inspire you to continue stitching!

| "Thank you" Marilyn and "Shades," for making this entire experience possible. We will always remember the coastal sunsets, salty waters, cute little lizards, and vocal frog songs of our first chart-signing. We had so much fun! Thank you! |
